Tekrati is getting a new logo as part of its 10th anniversary update. I’d appreciate your comments before we tear apart the existing Tekrati masthead.
Here’s my top pick (so far):
It’s over in the right column here as well.
If you’re wondering where this came from: Michael Montoya Graphic Design created a fun logo and site design for the Tekrati debut in 2000. Around mid-decade, we skinnied the logo down to the typography. Coming full circle - bringing back the lightbulb and the original color palette - seems a good way of saying, “10 years - yes!”

Congratulations to Tekrati 10th where our industry watcher Barbara is so perceptive and articulate that she really does not need the update, uptick, uplift, or upgrade, she’s already upscale!

Chris, Thanks for commenting. I was hoping the lightbulb still made sense.

Hi Barbara,
I like the design but it feels like it’s a logo and a lightbulb rather than integrated. I wonder if you’ve thought about playing with the ‘i’ in Tekrati so that the ‘i’ itself is the lightbulb shape or the dot at the top of the ‘i’ is the lightbulb. Feels like there is potential to merge the two parts together or play with the colours like in the tmiint logo here:

Best of luck!

Amie, Thanks for your creative suggestions. I’ve never thought of changing the font. Will play with these ideas.
